Adam believes that good design affects people in a positive way. His designs
are recognized for their degree of innovation, and attitude to all things NZ.
30 years of residential experience includes public housing, apartments, coastal
retreats and the bespoke residence. Commercial experience includes Heritage work
in Aucklands Britomart precinct, work at Auckland’s International Airport, multi use
developments, factories, and commercial/retail developments.
Adam’s father, Dick Mercer, a contemporary of the Group Architects founded the
practice in 1959. Adam became a director in 1993.
Born 1964, grew up in Hamilton.
Married with two sons.
Loves watersports, Surfing, Diving Fishing. Outdoors generally.
Overly passionate about Architecture.
Recently travelled with family for 6 mths in Europe via campervan, hotly in pursuit of
modern Architecture.
